In order to better enable JSTOR to provide linkers with information, every linking organization will be provided with an identifying string. We would ask that all article links include this string in the query parameter, with the key name, "origin".
For testing purposes, it is often not necessary to percent encode a query string containing a SICI, however JSTOR does request that all links to the public interface be percent encoded.
We have encountered major problems when the SICI includes a quote, ", which is not percent encoded, because the server believes that the quote signifies the end of the request. If you would like more of an explanation of percent or URL encoding or code to do the conversions, just let us know.
